Habit Change – Questions to Ponder

Wanting to let go of a bad habit is one thing, making it happen is quite another!

What good is your bad habit doing to you?

So many bad habits for me to choose from!  Let’s take being a failure for this example.

What enjoyment does it bring to your life?

There are so many funny stories as to why I am a failure, it is easy to keep others amused.

What would you miss if you did not have the bad habit in your life any more?

No jokes to tell, so no longer an amusing person.

How would life be better without the bad habit?

I could start to be the real me, build my self esteem and become a success!

Changing this habit has been wonderful, it is now part of my life to think of myself as a success.

What made me want to give up being a failure?

I got fed up with people laughing at me and decided to show them and also myself that I can be a success, not just once, but whenever I choose to do so.

Using the tools I shall tell you about in future issues of the blog, you will discover how I turned failure into success and how it changed my life.  Just a few of my successes to show you what is possible :

* gaining a pilot’s licence

* achieving a world record in golf

* winning an amateur national golfing championship

* being headhunted to write a couple of books which sold successfully

Wow! You made yourself a success both in the air and on the ground. Like to hear or read more about how you did that. And how you can help others reach similar highs.

What a lovely comment – thank you. I had always had a dream to fly. The one thing that stopped me was my eyesight. I cannot read the top letter on the test card. One day I read in the newspaper that even if you wear glasses, you could still become a pilot. I leapt on my bike and went down to the nearest aerodrome and went for a test flight. It was fantastic. I took four jobs to pay for the lessons and was elated to received my Private Pilot’s Licence. There were hiccups along the way and they will appear in due course in my blog.

With the golf, many of the members of the golf club laughed at my dream to become a real golfer. When I achieved the world record, it was as though the ugly duckling had turned into a fine swan!! Again, ups and downs along the way, but what a wonderful feeling to be a winner!

Helpful and inspiring support have allowed me to overcome fear and replace it with the courage to think differently and believe in myself.

  3. It’s a big shift to move from your comfort zone into a new way of viewing yourself Jacqui. I look forward to reading more about it on your blog.

It is amazing how much my life has improved since leaving my comfort zone. Yes, there are still challenges, and these can be viewed as problems or opportunities. I’ve given up the word problem and replaced it with opportunity!
